Grandma R’s Vintage Recipe Books

When my sister in law told me she had some cook books for me I had no idea what kind of amazing treasure she had! I’m so lucky her and her Dad (Of Roland’s Sauerkraut Dish fame) trust me with these family treasures!

Both of them are taped at the spine and stuffed absolutely full of recipes. I really can’t wait to fully look through them both.

The Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book is from 1950. It has all of the original recipes and many more that Grandma R cut out from the newspaper or magazines. I found a similar one without all the extras but in a bit better shape here at Abe Books. At $77 it’s pretty pricey. There are others on eBay and Etsy but none that are just the same.

I’m not kidding when I say the My Recipe Book is stuffed full! She’s overflowing! Handwritten, typed, and all sorts of clipped recipes! Plus Grandma R’s notes as well. This one is definitely my favorite!

My Google search has lead me nowhere on this one. I’d love to hear what you know about this recipe book. Do you have one like it? Or maybe remember it from Grandma’s kitchen? Let me know! Leave a comment or find me on Facebook.
